OnTrackCA is a performance management community powered by a free software service for all California school districts.  The service helps people work together to improve performance, in this case, reduce dropout and improve graduation rates.

A performance management community is a social network that uses data to identify students at risk and to target successful interventions to support them. Centered around a dashboard of data-driven indicators, the system is built for people to take action so kids stay in school and on track.

The system will have a base data set (Attendance, Behavior, GPA/Credits, and Grades) that will allow you to create as many indicators as you'd like. The partnership will be seeking guidance from national researchers and leaders in California on the composition of those indicators, and will be forming advisory groups to address this issue.

The system is intended to display data from many different sources.  To do so, the data integration process is being designed to be as easy as possible.  Starting with formats districts already use for integration with CALPADS, we will work to create a standard format for populating dashboards.  While the system itself is free, districts will be responsible for costs related to data integration.
